Peptide reconstitution guide
Understand the math behind vial strength, diluent volume, final concentration, and syringe-unit conversions.
Core concepts
Vial amount
The labeled dry peptide quantity, usually expressed in milligrams.
Diluent volume
The liquid volume added to the vial. More diluent lowers concentration; less diluent raises concentration.
Concentration
Calculated as vial amount divided by diluent volume, commonly shown as mg/mL.
Syringe units
For U-100 syringes, 100 units equals the full syringe volume, so unit conversions depend on syringe size.
Formula reference
| Calculation | Formula |
|---|---|
| Concentration | Peptide mg / diluent mL |
| Target amount in mg | Target mcg / 1000 |
| Draw volume | Target mg / concentration mg per mL |
| U-100 units | Draw mL / syringe mL x 100 |
